"Hey, back'er down. You gotta turn around"

Just when I think I have seen it all, NASCAR partners up with another product that makes me giggle (not in a bad way, this is pretty funny). I was playing around on Twitter and came across a blog entry that NASCAR Nuts and Bolts did.

For $229, you can own a GPS navigation device featuring the voice of Dale Earnhardt Jr. RightWay GPS is releasing "The Spotter" in May and it will be available at Amazon.com, Best Buy and Radio Shack. Dale will guide you to your destination with key phrases such as "Hey, back'er down. You gotta turn around", “In one mile, hang a right.” and, “Park it. We’re here.”. It comes pre-loaded with NASCAR and Dale Jr. points of interest including: NASCAR tracks, NASCAR parks and a tour of NASCAR race shops/garages in Charlotte. You also have the ability to have a GPS pointer in the following images: Amp Energy car, National Guard car or the Team Hauler as the GPS pointer.
I wonder if Dale will go all crazy on you if you don't follow his directions. Or as RadicalBender stated below, he may threaten to hit you with a hammer if you turn the wrong way. Maybe you could sympathize with Tony Eury Jr. I must admit, I would love to get my hands on one of these. Hearing Juniors voice is much better than the computer animated ones all the other systems have. I personally yell at my GPS lady who I named Betty, whose voice I eventually turned off. I can see it now, driving down the highway and screaming "SHUT UP JUNE-BUG".

If dating Dale Jr is the best thing you can put on your resume....mazel tov!!

Dale Jr's ex to compete in America's Next Top Model newest season.

No, no it isn't me; Kortnie Coles a 24 year old "non profit" organizer from Houston TX will be one of the contestants on the America's Next Top Model. This "Cycle 12" premires tonight on the CW network. True Dale Jr fans may remember her as one of the 17,000 supermodels that he has dated in the past. Its frightening when you google both their names the angst and uproar that is out there still over this pairing. Good luck to her and all the contestants on tonights show, sigh.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. and JR Motorsports to be featured in Nationwide Insurance 2009 marketing campaign

NASCAR Nationwide Series sponsor introduces 'Nationwide Insurance Dash 4 Cash' and NASCAR Nationwide Series ESPN 'Driver Pick 'Em' game at media day

Charlotte, NC — Nationwide Insurance announced today at NASCAR Nationwide Series media day that NASCAR racing superstar, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his company JR Motorsports will be featured in a new marketing campaign that will begin in February.
The company also introduced other activities related to the sponsorship, including the Nationwide Insurance Dash 4 Cash, which involves an increased winner's purse at four NASCAR Nationwide Series races, and the NASCAR Nationwide Series ESPN 'Driver Pick Em' game presented by Nationwide Insurance, a weekly interactive competition for cash prizes that will be available on ESPN.com
The campaign is a departure from previous Nationwide ads featuring celebrities. Despite the obvious opportunity for a racing pun, the ad does not include the company's famous Life Comes at You Fast line and is not intended to be humorous. It's framed as a customer testimonial, and true story from a family with one of the richest traditions in NASCAR.
An interactive site with more information on this can be found here

As a marketer, I love Nationwide campaigns! Geico freaks me out and tries too hard. Allstate really had this NASCAR area covered with their funny Kasey Kahne commercials . Initially, I thought that Nationwide really has their work cut out for them but this can be easily achieved with Dale Jr. You haters can say what you want but there really isnt a better face for sponsorship than him. Fame, talent and hot as haiti-ness aside, Dale has the persona that is a sponsors dream. His likeability and trustworthy manner dominates not only the strong obvious support of the Junior nation but will more than likely brand Nationwide to um Nationwide numbers. Must make mention of this silent battle of advertising swop a roo with Kasey and Junebug....first Budweiser now competing insurance agencies? hmmm....

Back in the good ole days......

Dale Jrs take on Regan and Talladega

I promise this will be my final post about Regan Smith at Talladega. I have had many conversations over the past week regarding the controversial ending at Talladega. Again, I am biased being I am friends with Regan. Nevertheless, if it were Juan Pablo that got screwed out of the win, I would still be shaking my head at Nascar. You can not sit here and tell me that if it were Dale Jr. that was pushed below the yellow line, that he would not have come out of that race as the winner. Oh, thats right...its happened to JR before and he DID come out the winner! Nascar rules are Nascar rules...until an unsponsored rookie almost takes the win from Sir Tony Stewart. Click here for the article Foxsports.com has regarding Dale Jrs take ont he race. One day, we will all be sitting in winner circle screaming winner winner chicken dinner.

I am ending this with a few quotes from JR.

"It was exactly the same. I was forced below (the yellow line) and that was declared OK,"

"I know for a fact Regan didn't go down the front straightaway with a plan to pass (Stewart) on the apron. He was under (Stewart) on the race track when Tony came down and he was forced onto the apron."

Dear Dale Jr

Apparently, two colleagues Dr. Keith Christy and Dr. Ray Schneider from Bowling Green State University will be collaborating with fans in a new book entitled Dear Jr. This will a compilation of letters written by fans of #88 Nascar driver Dale Earnhardt Junior. The book with letters written in the first person (address your letters to Dear Jr) plans on being presented to him at the 2010 Daytona 500.If you include a photo please give permission on a separate sheet of paper to grant permission for publishing. Once the book is published, all proceeds will go to the Dale Jr. Foundation.

All Dale Jr. fans are welcome to send letters/photos for possible inclusion in the book to:

OMG OMG....this made me spit out my coffee with excitement. Seriously, what a great idea...albeit a tad creepy...We at Nascar Fashionistas pray for substance and intelligence. This fashionista has had her letter ready for him for years.

Dear Jr,
Although we have never met, I would like to thank you for endless giggles from us fashionistas when we pretend to be you on each others voice mail or your alter ego in our initial stupor Dale Junior Earheart...its a long story and probably only funny to exactly three fashionistas. I do hope you find someone to share opening ceremonies soon because you deserve a big hug before you get into that car. Again, I have no idea why this is important to me. Also, thank you for staring at me at Darlynnton last year...that was very exciting. The end.

Or something like that....

"Its Just Dega...."

Those were the words from Bono, "It's Just Dega". GOD what a freakin mess of a race today!?!?! Martin had a great car- Top 10 all day- even taking the lead at times.....then THE TIRES. Brian Vickers blew a front right tire, and just wiped out our Martin Truex Jr. Bad and Hard. I think they said he took a total of 5 hits. OUCH. He went high, hit the wall, got spun by multiple cars 3 more times, then hit the lower wall- HARD. They came back from commercial, and I just saw that black chevy hitting the lower wall and I immediately jumped up from my coma and was like "OH F**K"- the scanner was on delay on the computer, so the wreck had not happened yet...then I hear Joey going "Are you ok?, Martin talk to us" and it was silent. SILENT. The TV had flashed to some of the other cars...then I saw Martin out of the car, and he was pissssssssssed. Tore off his tear sheet, took his helmet off and threw it in the car...it was bad- then they showed him walking by himself, just rubbing his hands over his head....It just SUCKED.

The girls were there, and I am sure they will talk about it first hand, cause I know they were by the Bass Pro pits when it happened. What a freakin mess.

Then- 5 to go. Our Reegs is running 2nd...I cant even write about the ending to that race. If you saw it, you know. REGAN WON THE RACE. REGAN WON THE RACE. But of course cause he got pushed under the yellow line for the pass....he got F**ked. So, no, TONY actually won the race. Probably one of the most controversial finishes all year. Poor Reegs. He really did win that race.

Have a beer for me Regan. You too Martin.

Junebug is a Junemonster!!

So, I am sitting here watching Nascar NOW on ESPN - going thru the haps and whatnot of this week in Nascar....and apparently, we missed this....Dale Jr and Tony Jr had WORDS over the radio!!!!

I am still looking for this story, since I caught the end of it on the Nascar show...but they interviewed Juney and he said "Ya'll can listen if you want, but keep your opinions to yourself..I am trying to do business out there" - I guess it got heated enough that owner Rick Hendrick had to jump on the radio to calm June down.....

June never gets mad!! And Bob never has a second cup of coffee at home?? (Airplane reference for you guys)

A confession, almost a little embarrassing

Well, Megan is out of town and Ally is at a luau and I guess what again am having a little issue with my headache...again, I figured I would do a quick blogity doo....First off, will bonsey be back next week?? I am getting antsy. Its not the same. Its HARD HARD HARD to listen to strangers...

Well, here is the confession....although I LOVE the race itself all the laps and the action, my absolute favorite part of the race is the pre race ceremony. I LOVE the national anthem and the most famous words in racing! I get chills everytime...it really is my favorite, and maybe one day I will be able to say those famous four words...I mean, a girl can dream right? There have had no ones do it...why not Queen Shit from Fucktown? I would rock it! Next to that and "We've got a great show tonight, stick around and we will be right back"...ally i know you are loling...its just on my bucket list!
Another thought, why is June Bug always by himself, how long does he has to court a lass before she gets to stand with him during this time??

He looks lonely and needs a hug...

Nascar Junkies

The trials and tribulations of 3 Nascar junkies.....First I have to state that NO, we do not stalk drivers to get their photos. We know many of these guys personally. Once you have an "in" in the Nascar world, it is easy to get to know people. Then you become well known on Pit Road and it's all over from there. Just imagine walking in the garage and a crew chief stops what he is doing to scream "skanks" at you! (he's kidding) I know that sounds bad but the "MY NEW HAIRCUT" video on youtube and too much Moonshine had a lot to do with that. Or how about Darlynn and Ally who became known at Darlington '07 as "The two girls in black cowboy hats" by pretty much everyone on pit row. I got a call from a certain driver friend of mine who starts telling me about these girls who were talk of the garage. Well, go figure, they were my best friends. To boot, at this years Pepsi, scratch that Coke 400, someone came up to them and asked if they were the "two girls in black cowboy hats". It is almost ridiculous.

So below, I would like to share some of our photos with you.
