RIP David Poole

We just heard horrible news that David Poole, a veteran NASCAR writer for The Charlotte Observer and host of "The Morning Drive" on Sirius NASCAR Radio, has suffered a heart attack and passed away at his home in North Carolina earlier today. David was only 50 years old and will surley be missed in the NASCAR family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. You can read more about it here.

Here is a comment from Jimmie Johnson regarding the sudden passing of David Poole:

“I am shocked and saddened to hear the news that our sport has lost David Poole. My thoughts go out to his family. He was someone who loved our sport and wasn’t afraid to voice his opinion. That’s what made him one of the most respected members of our media. I know I worked twice as hard to make sure I earned his respect. I am proud of what he has done for our sport and I know he will be truly missed by everyone in NASCAR.”

One of the funniest things I've heard, since DPizzle's passing on, was a Sirius Speedway caller saying we haven't heard the last rant from DP. The caller said we will hear rumbling from Heaven when DP is sent to the Supply room. He will be given his halo, his wings, his white robe, and then (Oh Lord, here's the punch line) his SANDALS! I laughed so hard. In case some are not aware of it, DP (nearly every day) expressed his utter disdain for flip-flops (sandals), which he called "man-feet". The caller ended by saying, Please Lord, give David some shoes. ROTFL
